[수잔 베가] Suzanne Vega - Tom's Diner

수잔베가는 1959년 7월 11일 미국생이며 작곡가 겸 가수이다.

그녀의 2번째 앨범 "Solitude Standing(1987년 발매)"에 수록된 두 곡 "Luka"와 "Tom's Diner"가 전 세계 여러 나라에서 차트 10위권에 진입했다.

원래 "Tom's Diner"는 아카펠라로 불려졌는데 후에 1990년에 영국의 댄스 프로덕션 팀 DNA에 의해 댄스 버전으로 재작업 되었다.

2014년에도 앨범을 발매하는 등 여전히 활동중이다.

여기에 소개된 곡 "Tom's Diner"가 MP3 압축 시스템 개발 초기에 레퍼런스 트랙으로 사용되면서

수잔 베가에게 "MP3의 엄마"라는 이름을 얻기도 했다.

원 버전인 아카펠라 곡의 그녀의 목소리가 상대적으로 작은 반향을 가졌기 때문에

칼하인츠 브란덴부르그 음원 압축 알고리즘의 모델로 사용되었다.
